SAM Mtukudzi is to become a father from beyond the grave, it has been sensationally claimed.

His ex-girlfriend, Ropafadzo Vhiriri, 23, claims she is carrying the unborn baby of Oliver Mtukudzi’s late son who died on March 15 in a car crash.

Vhiriri, a former manager of Sam’s Ay Band, has told her family the shock news – but the Mtukudzis don’t want to hear a word of it, a relative said.

“She is more than seven months pregnant and we are praying that God blesses her with a healthy child,” one of Vhiriri’s relatives told the H-Metro newspaper this week.

“It was not easy for her to make the news known since she fell pregnant at the same time that Sam died. She told us that they had plans to marry had Sam lived to this day.”

Sam’s mother, Daisy, has trashed Vhiriri’s claims, thundering: “These people (Vhiriri family) are simply after something.

“What I only know about the girl is that they worked together with Sam. It’s false for her to claim that they were in love.

“Sam had only one girlfriend who is in South Africa and not this piece of sh*t. Please don’t believe them, they have got an agenda.”

Vhiriri’s family rejects Daisy’s accusations, with one relative insisting: “Ropa is an independent woman running her own business and it’s sad for people to think that she is after the Mtukudzi family’s wealth.”

Her family says Daisy was always rabidly opposed to her son’s relationship with Ropa, who was a year older than him.

“They once cohabited in Norton but Ropa was really persecuted by Daisy who called her all sorts of names until the affair failed to hatch into a marriage,” the relative added.

Speaking from her Tynwald North home, Ropa was reluctant to talk to reporters.

“I last saw the Mtukudzi family at Sam’s funeral. They know about the pregnancy, and let’s leave it at that,” she said.

The mum-to-be said she was shortly due to undergo a scan to confirm the sex of the baby.
