SHE sensationally told the media that her boyfriend almost killed her after she asked him to help with dirty dishes while she "cleaned the rest of the house".
But as her boyfriend Brian Munjodzi, 39, was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm before Mbare magistrates on Tuesday, a new account of how ZiFM DJ Tinopona ‘Tin Tin’ Katsande got her injuries emerged.
Katsande, 33, circulated pictures of her swollen face, adding on her Twitter account: “Was beaten up for asking him to help me clean the house by washing the dishes while I did the laundry.”
But as prosecutors presented their case against the nightclub owner, contrasting new details only raised new questions.
Mirirai Mavhemwa-Chagwedera told the court how on Sunday, November 10, at around 8PM, Munjodzi had called the former Studio 263 actress and invited her to his house.
She arrived at his New Marimba home to find him waiting for her outside, and the two went in together.
She told friends on Twitter she busied herself with laundry and house cleaning; but magistrate Reuben Mukavhi heard that on entering the house, Katsande first went to the toilet, and then headed to the bedroom complaining that she was tired.
Munjodzi, say prosecutors, remained in the lounge and asked her to come and join him but she refused, insisting that she wanted to sleep.
Said Mavhemwa-Chagwedera, for the state: “This did not go down well with Munjodzi, who followed her to the bedroom and dragged her to the lounge while pulling her hair.
“Munjodzi punched and kicked her in the chest. He then pushed her against the wall, refrigerator and stove before trying to strangle her until she bled from the nose and mouth.”

The court heard that Katsande tried to run away but Munjodzi dragged her back into the house, ignoring pleas from his tenants to stop the assault.
Prosecutors say as the tenants tried to calm Munjodzi down, he accused Katsande of “not listening to him”.
When the assault ended, it is alleged, he ordered her to go and sleep.
Katsande appeared in pain in court as she was supported by friends. In a statement on Monday, she described her injuries as “chipped teeth, bruised ribs, swollen face, blood shot eyes, patches of uprooted hair from the pulling and a heavy heart”.
Stead Kachere, representing Munjodzi, indicated that they would not deny that he assaulted her, but they would challenge the circumstances around the incident as outlined by prosecutors.
Munjodzi was remanded to November 29 on US$100 bail.
