KAIZER Chiefs have moved swiftly to tie down one of their key players ahead of the CAF Champions League campaign and the Absa Premiership title race.

Midfielder Willard 'Cheese & Onion' Katsande has extended his stay with Amakhosi for a further three years, effectively to June 2017, the club said on their official website on Thursday.

The 27-year-old anchorman joined Chiefs from Ajax Cape Town in 2011 and has since grown in stature to become an integral part of the league champions.

"I am pleased with the way the negotiations went. To pen a new deal speaks volumes. It is all about hard work paying off. I will do the rest of the talking in the field of play to respond to this vote of confidence," Katsande told kaizerchiefs.com.

Katsande has played 62 official games, seven of those as a substitute for the Glamour Boys.
