HIGHLANDERS coach Kelvin Kaindu has paid tribute to his side for a resolute showing in Sunday’s 3-1 away win at Buffaloes.

The Bulawayo giants maintained an unbeaten run after eight matches into the season and firm grip at the top of the standings where they have 19 points and one better then second-placed Hwange.

Charles Sibanda grabbed a brace before his shot was deflected into the nets by Bufaloes’ Liberty Chakoroma to seal the convincing victory for Highlanders, Jacob Muzokomba grabbed Buffaloes’ consolation.

“The boys did well. That is the kind of spirit we have been asking from them and I hope we will continue like that,” Kaindu said.

Kaindu however, bemoaned the way how they conceded, Muzokomba scored from a set piece.

“The guys played well but on the Buffaloes goal they did not play according to instruction,” he said.

“We always want to avoid fouls because free-kicks are dangerous and can cost you a match. On this one they were not on what they had been told.

“But it is good they played good football and we collected three points away from home.”

The result was Buffaloes’ third loss of the season and a second staging one after last weekend’s emphatic 5-1 loss to Triangle.
