CHIREDZI United coach Moses Chunga says it is too early to brand his side relegation candidates.

The league debutants are at the foot of the PSL standings after managing just one win, three draws and seven losses.

They host Caps United on Sunday and the Harare giants are yet to win on the road this season.

“The race is still on so I do not know why people are already talking about relegation. There is room for improvement in the team and we will start picking up points as we go,” Chunga said.

Chiredzi United are in a financial red that has sparked fierce bickering between Chunga and the club executive.

“It is not a secret that we are working under a hostile financial environment and the boys have given it their all under such circumstances.

“That is a show of great character in the team. It shows potential and that is why I am ruling out relegation,” Chunga said.

The three draws they have managed are from their home games while they have lost thrice in their own backyard.
