ZPC Kariba and Chicken Inn will kick off the closing first half of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League on Thursday when they clash at Gwanzura Stadium.

The weekend will see three derbies in Harare (Caps United-Dynamos), Bulawayo (Highlanders-Bantu Rovers) and in Zvishavane (FC Platinum-Shabanie Mine).

But there is no doubt ZPC  will be looking to string two wins in a row against a Chicken Inn side that promised so much at the start, but has delivered so little under Joey Antipas and could be in for a  rude awakening.

Despite the nine draws they have played this season, ZPC stunned Hwange 2-0 last weekend and now have 24 points, three behind leaders Highlanders and have a perfect chance to draw level at the top before the giants get into action.

But they have to do that without veteran striker Limited Chikafa - who scored in the Hwange win - due to suspension and midfielder Phillip Makanje who is also out after accumulating three yellow cards.

With playmaker Raphael Manuvire out through a long term injury after a crude tackle against Chapungu, ZPC have to call upon the services of Artwell Nyamiwa to get the goals they need for a home win.

Chicken Inn, well financed by Mat Inns, who run Chicken Inn, Bakers Inn, Pizza Inn, Steers and Nandos, have not lived up to expectations are lie in seventh place with 20 points from 14 matches after five wins, five draws and four losses and cannot afford another loss.

On Saturday, Harare City welcome Hwange to Rufaro while the Zvishavane Derby explodes with FC Platinum welcoming Shabanie Mine to Maglas Stadium.

Friday:  ZPC Kariba vs Chicken Inn (Rufaro)

Saturday:  Harare City vs Hwange (Rufaro), FC Platinum vs Shabanie Mine (Mandava)

Sunday: Caps United vs Dynamos (NSS), Black Rhinos vs How Mine (Rimuka), Buffaloes vs Chiredzi (Chiredzi), Triangle vs Chapungu (Chapungu), Highlanders vs Bantu Rovers (BF)
