Dynamos edge Caps United in NetOne Cup

DYNAMOS and Caps United will cross swords for the second successive week when they clash on Sunday in the quarter-finals of the inaugural NetOne One Wallet Cup at the National Sports Stadium.

The Harare giants who drew 1-1 in a league match last weekend were on Wednesday afternoon paired at a draw conducted in the capital city.

It would be their third meeting this season after Caps eliminated their arch-rivals from the ZNA Charity Shield in May at the semifinal stage with a 1-0 score line.

Sunday’s match is a potentially explosive encounter after their last confrontation was a tense affair and failed to produce a winner.

The One Wallet Cup which involves teams that finished in the top-eight last season will also see Highlanders meeting with their Bulawayo rivals How Mine for the second time in three weeks.

Their battle would be staged at a neutral venue at Gweru’s Ascot Stadium on Saturday.

Opening this inaugural knockout tournament would be Harare City who clash with Triangle in a lunch time kickoff at Mandava Stadium on Friday before FC Platinum play Chicken Inn two hours later at the same venue.

The semi-final draw would be later conducted after this round.
