Chapungu 3-0 ZPC Kariba

ZPC KARIBA lost a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match for the first time with a 3-0 humiliation at the hands of Chapungu at Ascot on Wednesday.

The Kariba-based premiership side has managed to avoid defeat in all their league matches since they were promoted to the topflight league.

The result means that they have now lost two consecutive matches having been booted out of the Chibuku Super Cup after succumbing to 1-0 defeat at the hands of Harare City over the weekend.

The hosts could have opened their account in the opening five minutes but Maxwell Mavhuto’s shot was denied by some heroic goalkeeping.

Brighton Mugoni then headed the army side into the lead when he directed Victor Bangira’s cross into the net after 32 minutes of action.

Ten minutes into the second half Pardon Chinungwa worsened the situation for his teammates when he deflected Charles Murisa’s cross into his own net for the second goal.

Mugoni added gloss to the score line when he rounded off Dexter Phiri inside the box before firing past Wilson Muchenje to complete his brace.
