Pasuwa welcomes Caf Under-23 draw

THE FC Platinum trio of Wisdom Mutasa, Kelvin Moyo and Walter Musona has been included in the national Under 23 squad to face Botswana in an international friendly set for 30th of this month in Gaborone.

The Callisto Pasuwa led technical department announced an experienced 18-man squad with 17 of the players already playing in the country’s signature league.

Of the travelling party only DC Academy protégé Rusere Carlos Rodwell is yet to break his teeth in the topflight league.

The Dynamos duo of Tatenda Mukuruva and Blessing Moyo as well as the Highlanders players Gabriel Nyoni and Knox Mutizwa are also part of the team.

The technical department has once again overlooked foreign based players with Dutch Eredevie side Vitesse Arhem’s Marvelous Nakamba the most glaring omission.

Head Coach Pasuwa will however, not be part of the travelling entourage as he will be attending a FIFA training program in Egypt for national team coaches and a review of the just ended World Cup.

ZPC Kariba Coach Saul Chaminuka will assume the reigns and will be assisted by Hwange Coach Nation Dube.

Zimbabwe Football Association spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela told the association’s website that the team will troop into camp on the 27th of this month and leave the following day.

“We expect the boys to be in camp by Saturday evening and they will travel on Sunday.

After this game this newly assembled team will be subjected to numerous friendly matches to afford coaches ample time to assess, improve and modify it before the qualifiers commence,” he said.
