Cara through to China Open finals

CARA Black and India’s Sania Mirza lost the China Open Women's Doubles Finals in Beijing on Saturday in one of their last tournaments as a partnership.

The Indo-Zimbabwean partnership failed to defend a title they won last year, losing 6-4, 6-4 to China’s Peng Shuai and Andrea Hlavackova of the Czech Republic.

Incidentally, Cara defeated Shuai and Hlavackova in the semi-finals of the recent Wuhan Open, the Zimbabwean playing with Caroline Garcia of France since Sania was representing India at the Asia Games in South Korea.

Cara and Sania will next team up for the season-ending BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore this October, in what will likely be their last tournament as a partnership.

Last month it was reported that Sania would partner Chinese Taipei's Su-Wei Hsieh in the women's doubles next year, bringing an end to her successful partnership with Cara.
