ZPC KARIBA defender Dennis Dauda was on Friday night crowned the Castle Premiership Soccer Star of the Year as his side swept all the top awards.

He walked away with $6 000 and a floating trophy as he joined a few defenders ever to have won the top gong.

Other defenders to have won the top award include former Bosso skipper Dazzy Kapenya (2002) and the legendary Mercedes Rambo Sibanda (1987) also of Highlanders as well as David Mandigora (1980) of Dynamos.

ZPC finished the season in second place with no trophy but there was nothing that could stop goalkeeper Tendai Hove and veteran striker Limited Chikafa walking to the podium to claim the first and second runners up prizes respectively.

To cap a fine night, their coach Saul Chaminuka was also crowned the Coach of the Year beating four time title winner Kalisto Pasuwa.

The only consolation for Dynamos was Blessing Moyo getting the rookie of the year award and the champions taking home a replica trophy for winning their fourth title in a row.

Highlanders' Charles Sibanda and How Mine hitman Kuda Musharu shared the Golden Boot award after scoring 12 goals each in the just ended season.

FC Platinum were named the Most Disciplined Team.
