FC PLATINUM coach Norman Mapeza believes his young players are gathering experience as the platinum miners prepare for Tanzania’s Young Africans for the CAF Confederation Cup first round.

The platinum miners saw off the challenge of Kenyan side Sofapaka with 2-1 identical winning scorelines home and away.

With a squad that boasts of an average age of 22 years dominating, Mapeza feels his charges are warming up to the demands of international football.

“The youngsters are doing well considering this level of football we are playing at. I am satisfied with the way they are adapting to our style of play,” Mapeza said.

“They are showing the hunger to play and learn. This stage of football needs some experience and my boys are getting it.

“Remember some of them play for the national Under-23 team.

"My emphasis is usually to keep possession and they are mastering it very well.”

Playing Young Africans would be a return to East Africa for FC Platinum after a conquering Sofapaka in Nairobi.
