CAPS United coach Mark Harrison has warned of a total crumble of the Harare giants who are slowly sinking deep in a financial quandary.

United have of late been rocked by player unrest over non-payment of salaries, winning bonuses and signing-on fees.

This led to the club failing to fulfil their league match against How Mine on Good Friday as players refused to play.

Harrison and some club officials are said to be always battling to convince players to fulfil fixtures.

Last month Caps United parted ways with a South African-based sponsor, worsening the situation.

Harrison told a local radio station that United is on the verge of folding.

“We are in dire straits. We are in a shocking state,” Harrison said.

“I am not sure if the players are going to get their money at the end of the month. We need help as quickly as possible.

“I feel for the supporters who are always behind us. Caps has big potential to become champions if, a big IF, the club can sort itself out.

“We do not even know if we are going to play the next match or not.”

They host ZPC Kariba on Sunday in what is undoubtedly an acid test for them.

Caps are at mid table, having won two league matches and lost as many while they have recorded one draw in their campaign so far.

Their last match was a 1-0 defeat by ZPC Kariba again last Saturday in the Independence Trophy third place play-off.

WEEKEND FIXTURES

Saturday: Flame Lilly v Triangle United, Wha Wha v FC Platinum, Chicken Inn v How Mine, Harare City v Dynamos
