HIGHLANDERS edged Dongo Sawmill 1-0 at Vhengere Stadium in Rusape to move into fourth place in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League on Sunday.

Nqobizitha Masuku scored the solitary goal on the half hour mark to give coach, Bongani Mafu, some breathing space after the last loss to Chapungu at home.

This was Highlanders’ first return to Rusape in 19 years after their last match there ended in a 3-0 loss to Cone Textiles in the former Super League.

With the Sunday win, Bosso sit on 10 points, five off new leaders Chicken Inn, but just three points off Triangle who are mentored by their former coach Kelvin Kaindu.

Dongo remained rooted at the bottom of the log with no win and two points from two draws and four losses.

At the National Sports Stadium, Caps United salvaged a point as they came from a goal down to draw 1-1 against ZPC Kariba to cap off a hectic week after owner Twine Phiri said the club was up for sale.

ZPC star man Raphael Manuvire netted his sixth goal in six matches in the 16th minute, but Caps fought back to level via a Gerald Phiri stunner in the 38th minute.

Caps remained in 10th place with ZPC up in seventh.
