MAMELODI Sundowns striker, Cuthbert Malajila, says the club can feel pleased about last season's achievements, but hopes to do even more in the new campaign.

The Brazilians may have missed out on the Absa Premiership crown after finishing second last term, but that was still enough to secure CAF Champions League football for next year, while they capped off 2014/15 by lifting the Nedbank Cup.

And Zimbabwe international Malajila, who bagged 10 goals for the Tshwane giants last term, is expecting only improvements when the new season kicks off in August.

"We obviously wanted to win more trophies, but we are happy with our achievements last season. We just want to do better next season," he told Soccer Laduma.

"Every player wants to win something. As a striker I want to score more goals. I have to go and prepare well during the pre-season.

“I have to work harder than I did last season. I gave more assists this season so next season I should try to score more and not just assist.

"I am a team player you know. I have to play for the team first then the rest will follow."
