ZIMBABWE international striker Cuthbert Malajila has targeted this year's Lesley Manyathela award as he looks ahead to a successful season with Mamelodi Sundowns.

The former Maritzburg United man scored twice in a 4-2 Premiership win over Bidvest Wits on Saturday and he believes he can win this term's golden boot after netting 10 league goals last season.

"I want to score more," the 29-year old told Goal.

"I want not just to do it for myself but for the team as well. Even if I don't score and the team wins then I am happy. But as a striker I have to score goals because that's my job.

"If I can do that and win the top goal scorer award then I would have done my job right."

The 17-time capped Zimbabwean joined Pitso Mosimane's team in 2013 after scoring 15 goals in 41 appearances for former club Maritzburg United.
