Dynamos shift focus to Chibuku Cup

AFTER severely denting their league title chances last weekend, Dynamos turn attention to Saturday’s Chibuku Super Cup final in which they clash with Harare City at the National Sports Stadium.

The Harare giants were held 1-1 by relegation haunted Flame Lily last Saturday in a match they let slip their chances of claiming a fifth straight league title.

But Tonderayi Ndiraya’s men could still end the season with the richest knockout tournament in the domestic league should they beat Harare City on Saturday.

The Chibuku Super Cup gives passage to competing in the Caf Confederations Cup.

Dynamos manager Richard Chihoro said it is crucial for them to pick themselves up and redeem themselves in the wake of plunging themselves into faint league title prospects.

“We did not do well against Flame Lily like what we have wanted and the result was that we made life difficult for ourselves. But at least there is still the Chibuku Cup to play for,” Chihoro said.

“The Chibuku Cup comes with bragging rights of course. We want to win it and end the season with something big in the bag.

“We are reorganising ourselves and winning it is very much possible. But it would be a tough match since it would be a derby against Harare City.”

Harare City were the Chibuku Super Cup losing finalists last season where they succumbed to FC Platinum.
