Grateful for chance to play ... Tendai Ndoro
MATCH winning striker Tendai Ndoro says he is grateful to be playing and scoring goals for Orlando Pirates after netting again against Free State Stars.

Ndoro’s uncompromising early strike against Ea Llo Koto earned the Buccaneers a 1-0 win on Saturday night as Pirates moved to within four points of Kaizer Chiefs on the Absa Premiership table.

The striker also hit the woodwork just two minutes after that, and is proving a capable replacement for the departed Kermit Erasmus at the moment.

“First of all I must thank God for everything He’s doing in my life. Thanks to my teammates, it’s not about me, but [team] effort,” he said after the match.

“You’ll see we didn’t manage to play our normal game because, eish, we wanted to score an early goal and that’s what we did and Free State Stars played well, so the best team won today.

“It was difficult when I joined the team, you know the team was playing in cups so it was difficult for me to break in, but through God I had patience and He did open the doors for me and check right now, you can’t say I was not playing.

“But thanks to Orlando Pirates for giving me the chance of playing, I wish I can do better in the next games.”

Coach Eric Tinkler is also delighted with Ndoro’s contributions.

“He’s been exceptional for us. We know that, given a chance, he will hit the target. He was a bit unlucky with the second one coming off the crossbar,” Tinkler added.
