THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) has resolved to relegate two teams from the topflight league at the end of the season.

PSL chief executive Kenny Ndebele said the decision has since been send to the Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) for approval.

Ndebele said two teams from the division one will be promoted into the topflight league next season.

Traditionally PSL has been relegating four teams at the end of each season, but Ndebele said the change will help to increase competition as the newly promoted teams struggled to cope with the demands of the topflight league.

"We took this decision after realising that the newly promoted teams will be relegated after just one season in the league,” he said.

It’s a learning curve for them. So by the end of the season two teams will be relegated and we also have two teams that will come up from the division one.

“These teams will, after winning the championships, be involved in playoffs and the winners will be promoted next year."
