HIGHLANDERS stuttering season hit a new low on Monday as they laboured to a 0-0 draw with bottom-table Bantu Rovers.

Mohammed Fathy’s men have only scored just eight goals in 11 matches and find themselves 11 points adrift of leaders Motor Action.

After playing out another goalless draw on the road to Eagles last Saturday, Highlanders were under pressure to put their title hunt back on track at Barbourfields.

But once again they fired blanks against a Rovers side which has only won once and brings the rear on the 16-team league table.

Striker Francis Kanda came closest for Highlanders as he twice beat Rovers keeper Liberty Chirava with headers either half, only to have the goals ruled out for offside.

Highlanders are yet to win away from Barbourfields.

Later Tuesday Dynamos can go top with victory over Kiglon at Rufaro. Their title rivals Motor Action failed to increase their advantage at the top when they drew 1-1 with Gunners on Saturday.

A win on Tuesday will lift Dynamos to 27 points, one better than the Mighty Bulls who have played two games more.
