HIGHLANDERS recovered from last week's lifeless display in their 0-0 draw against lowly Mutare City Rovers to edge Caps United 1-0 at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

A 63rd minute goal by Bruce Kangwa was all the Bulawayo giants needed to beat their rivals whom they face off in back to back clashes.

The victory Bosso to the top of the league table with 30 points in 14 starts the same as FC Platinum who also overcame Bulawayo City in another league match. Both Highlanders and FC Platinum have a game in hand.

But Caps United striker Leonard Tsipa, in a moment of madness, head butted Peter Mudhuwa in an off the ball incident and the big striker was sent off on 54 minutes. The Harare giants, who had the opportunity to go on top of the log after a deserved 2-0 win over Tsholotsho in midweek, never recovered after Tsipa saw red. The veteran striker has been scoring most of the goals for the Harare giants. In 2004, Tsipa was involvement in a similar incident against Bosso when he clapped defender Gilbert Banda in an off the ball situation.

Caps United are now in third place with 29 points from 15 matches with Dynamos in fourth on 25 points from the same number of games.
