BULAWAYO giants Highlanders missed a good chance to top of the league table after stuttering to a goalless draw against visiting Triangle in a Castle Lager Premiership tie at Barbourfields Stadium on Wednesday.

Bosso needed a win of any margin to get back to the top of the league table after FC Platinum had edged Chicken Inn 1-0 on Sunday to claim top spot with thirty-three points while Highlanders had thirty.

Both teams had a game in hand, but Norman Mapeza's FC Platinum remained at the summit of the league table following Highlanders' stumble at Barbourfields.

Bosso had gone into the match with their confidence high after lifting the ZNA Charity Shield - their first silverware of the campaign when edging Harare City 4-2 on penalties.

Highlanders now visit Caps United to Harare on Sunday in a reverse fixture that could shape the destiny of the championship.

The leadership at the top has changed hands several times between Bosso, FC Platinum and Caps United.

United remain in third place with 29 points with bitter city rivals Dynamos in fourth place with 25 points.

Dynamos also visit ZPC Kariba after playing out a goalless draw in the reverse fixture at Rufaro before the break.
