HIGHLANDERS get a chance to halt Motor Action’s title charge and save their own season when the two teams clash at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

Highlanders are 11 points adrift of the league leaders after just 11 games.

On Sunday, the second meanest defence in the league is up against the second worst attack. With only five goals conceded, only Dynamos’ defence which has let in three goals has done better than Joey Antipas’ men.

Compared to Motor Action’s staggering 23 goals, Highlanders have only managed seven while conceding eight – far from championship winning form.

Victory on Sunday would dent Motor Action’s title advance and give Highlanders the perfect tonic to turn around their season.

But the Mighty Bulls have shown they are no pushovers this season, and are the only team to have beaten Dynamos who were undefeated in the opening eight matches.

Highlanders, held 0-0 away to Eagles last Saturday, will be without the suspended midfielder Eric Mudzingwa.

Antipas said Friday his team would be aiming for a win, but admitted it won’t be easy against a Highlanders team which looks to its home matches for points.

"Our aim is to collect all points against Highlanders,” Antipas said, “but that will not be easy. Highlanders are like a wounded lion because they have not been playing well especially away and would want to take advantage of home ground. We really have to measure up to the challenge.”
