MAMELODI Sundowns forward Khama Billiat says fans will have to wait until the end of the season to find out why he changed numbers.

Billiat last season wore the number 20 on the back of his shirt but was spotted donning the number 33 when Sundowns kicked off their 2016/17 domestic season with a 3-1 win over SuperSport United in the MTN8 quarter-finals on Saturday.

The 26-year-old Zimbabwean international says a "special someone" is behind the move.

"Someone special asked me to change numbers and there's reasons why the person asked me to," Billiat tells KickOff.com.

"And I respect [their request] that I can only reveal why the person asked me to do that at the end of the season."

Billiat will, however, continue wearing the number 20 shirt in Downs' ongoing CAF Champions League campaign, as his registration number cannot change during through the competition.

The Brazilians will next travel to Zambia where they will face Zesco United in the first leg of their semi-final clash on September 16, before hosting the return duel in Tshwane a week later.
