MOSES Chunga will have his second stint at CAPS United after being named coach on Tuesday, a day after the Harare club sacked Lloyd Chitembwe over poor results.

United CEO Maxwell Mironga said Chunga would be in charge on an “acting capacity”, with a view to a permanent deal.

“He is the new coach and although he is in an acting capacity, we expect the relationship to last,” Mironga said.

“The position of the team on the log and the general performance of the club led to the changes in the technical department.”

Chunga has 17 games to rescue United’s season, but the league title appears to be out of reach for the team which trails leaders Motor Action by 18 points.

The Dynamos playing legend, who won the Premier League title with Gunners in 2009, was out of a job after quitting Shooting Stars four weeks ago under unclear circumstances.

Chunga took charge of CAPS United in the 2008 season but quit after saying he feared for his safety. Vocal United fans were unhappy with Chunga’s failure to end their drought for a Premier League title they last won in 2005.
