PREMIERSHIP: Chapungu coach John Nyikadzino says playing title favourites Caps United in their final match of the season is a motivating factor on itself to finish on a high.

Chapungu host Caps United on Sunday, in a make or break encounter especially for Caps United, who are on the verge of clinching the league title.

United need nothing else but, a win to be crowned champions ahead of second-placed FC Platinum, whom they lead by two points.

If United draw with Chapungu while FC Platinum beat Tsholotsho, on the same day, the platinum miners would be the champions on goal difference.

But now Nyikadzino has sent a chilling message to Caps United, that Chapungu are pumped up for Saturday’s challenge.

“Playing big teams brings in some motivation into the team. Players want to stand up and be counted against these so-called giants,” Nyikadzino said.

“That is what usually carries the day for us. These players also want to be recognised and there is no better platform, than against the big teams. We have been preparing for Caps United very hard, so we are ready for them. We will just go out there and try to get a positive result. It is always good to finish the season on a positive note.”

Chapungu have not been enjoying a good season and if Zifa proceeds with having four teams relegated, they would be playing in Division One next season.
