HIGHLANDERS recovered from their defeat to Chicken Inn in their previous Castle Lager Premiership match last week to brush aside visiting Triangle 2-0 at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

Goals from Prince Dubea at 8 minutes and Roderick Mutuma, 48 minutes, were all the Bulawayo giants needed to register a comfortable victory.

It was a welcome win for Elroy Akbay's men who are desperate for points after they were edged 1-0 by Rahman Gumbo's Chicken Inn in the previous match.

The win lifted Highlanders to fifth position on the league table with 20 points- six behind leaders Ngezi Platinum who were held to a 0-0 draw by Chapungu at home.

At Maglas, Norman Mapeza's FC Platinum were held to a 1-1 draw by Shabanie Mine in the Zvishavane derby. The Premiership returnees refused to be cowed into submission matching their more illustrious opponents blow by blow.

Wellington Taderera scored the equalising goal that earned Shabanie this big point in the 15th minute after Talent Chawapihwa had thrust the miners into a third minute lead.

The Chinda Boys came into the match head high due to recent form having developed a penchant of punching above their weight. So far, this season, they have avoided defeat against Dynamos, Highlanders and Caps United.

For FC Platinum their cross town rivals are viewed as minors on paper considering the disparities in the budgets of the two sides.

The platinum miners also came into the match being the only team in the elite division yet to taste defeat, and that form needed to be preserved to keep insight with the leading pack.
