Motor Action 0-0 Shabanie Mine

DEFENDING champions Motor Action were held to a 0-0 draw by Shabanie Mine in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at Maglas Stadium on Sunday.

The reigning champions who were dislodged from the top of the league table by FC Platinum are now third on the log with 44 points from 26 matches.

The draw at Maglas left them trailing the leaders by five points and second placed Dynamos by four points.

The Mighty Bulls have not won in their last six games with their last outing before Sunday's draw against Shabanie ending in a 1-0 defeat by Blue Ribbon at Motor Action
Sports club.

The return of coach, Joey Antipas from duty with the national team away to Cape Verde failed to change the team's fortunes as they appear to be faltering in the crucial stages of the campaign.

But assistant coach David George still put up a brave face ahead of the remaining games.

"We played well against Shabanie but failed to convert our chances but I believe we still have a mathematical chance in this race. We now need to win all our remaining games and then see what happens," he said after the match.

At Gwanzura, Kiglon beat Masvingo United 3-2 in another league match on Sunday.

Weekend Results
Saturday: Gunners 2-1 FC Platinum, Blue Ribbon 1-0 Zimbabwe Saints, Shooting Stars 0-0 Chicken Inn, Black Mambas 1-1 Caps United
Sunday: Kiglon 3-2 Masvingo (Gwanzura), Dynamos 3-1 Highlanders (Rufaro), Shabanie Mine 0-0 Motor Action (Maglas)
