Trials ... Cuthberth Malajila missing for Dynamos

PREMIER League leaders Dynamos return to action this Saturday with a tough game against Motor Action at Rufaro.

Last week, Dynamos’ clash against Black Rhinos was postponed with no explanation, while the Mighty Bulls did the leaders a huge favour after beating their closest pursuers Gunners 2-0.

Dynamos, without leading scorer Cuthberth Malajila who is on trial with Belgian side Cercle Brugge, will be aiming to maintain their four-point lead.

They have 35 points while the Mighty Bulls, after 12 draws and just three wins in 17 matches, are 14 points behind.

Motor Action coach Joisten Mathuthu saw Bheki Ncube’s double give him maximum points against Gunners and hopes to pick up his second win on the trot.

He said: “There were a few problems in the team and I believe we have turned around a corner.

“Dynamos are not an easy team to play; they have the best players in the league so we really need to be at our best to stand a chance.”

Without Malajila, Dynamos will turn to Philip Marufu, super-sub Lloyd Hlahla and Wonder Sithole for goals.

At Gwanzura, Gunners, who missed coach Moses Chunga last week for the match against the Bulls, take on Hwange, who drew 2-2 with Monomotapa on Wednesday.

Gunners manager Wellington Mupandare could not confirm if Chunga was back at the club on Friday.

He said: “I cannot comment now, but preparations for the match have been going on well and we are ready to bounce back.”

Chunga could not be reached for comment, but sources said he did not train the team the whole week.

Besides the absence of Chunga from the bench, leading scorer Norman Maroto is understood to be seeking greener pasture in South Africa -- a major blow to their title push.

Lengthens, third in the league, face Underhill who moved into double figures this season after stunning Shooting Stars 2-1 last Saturday.

On Sunday, another derby awaits Bulawayo as fading rivals Highlanders and Njube Sundowns meet at Barbourfields.

The former champions have snatched Chipo Tsodzo from Division One side Quelaton, while Sundowns have lost leading scorer Evans Chikwaikwai to South African side Bidvest Wits.
