NEW Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu gets a feel of the local premiership on Sunday when the former champions take on Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) at Barbourfields Stadium.
Kaindu, a former Bosso striker, took over from Mkhuphali Masuku and trained Highlanders for just one week before going off to attend a week-long course in Harare which ends Friday.
Highlanders have not made any significant additions to their squad after losing probably their best player from last season Rahman Kutsanzira to Caps United while defender Bekithemba Ndlovu is now the assistant coach
Former skipper Gilbert Banda and fellow midfielder Louis Matawu joined FC Platinum while Gift Lunga retired from playing and will coaching the 14 junior side.
Bosso however, managed to retain veteran defender Innocent Mapuranga, goalkeeper, Arial Sibanda, striker Graham Ncube and midfielder Simon Munawa.
Meanwhile, Caf Champions League debutantes FC Platinum will also take on BMC at Mandava Stadium Saturday as part of their preparations for the 2012 season and
the continental campaign.
Platinum are understood to have recalled former Dynamos and Gunners hitman, Norman Maroto who had been transfer-listed.
BMC are second in the Botswana beMobile Premier League.
Coach, Daniel 'Chico' Nare has signed seven new players including goalkeeper, Botlhe Moralo, Zimbabwean Mandlaenkosi Sibanda, Hendrick Moyo and Kago Segokgo.
