DYNAMOS players have gone on strike demanding the payment of signing-on fees.

Club officials said the job action started Tuesday with players refusing to train until the issue is addressed.

The 2011 premiership champions had already started pre-season training ahead of the league re-start as well as their participation in the African Champions League.

A meeting held Friday with the club’s executive failed to resolve the dispute and the players vowed to continue with the strike.

“This executive is not being honest. They are always full of promises but nothing is delivered,” one senior player said asking not to be named for fear of victimization.

“We will only go back to training after getting our signing on fees.”

Club chairman Kenny Mubaiwa said the executive was now looking for help from well-wishers.

“Its true, all the 30 first team players have been on strike since Tuesday demanding their signing on fees but we are running around as an executive sourcing for the money,” Mubaiwa said.

“Unfortunately, its not small figures we are talking about here but $150 000 for 30 players. It’s not going to be easy but we are running around asking for help from the well-wishers”.

“We have also approached our partners BancABC and they said they will come back to us.”

BancABC are Dynamos main sponsors but the financial institution only pays the technical staff and players' salaries in addition to providing transport for the club.

Other payments such as winning bonuses, signing-on and retainer fees for new and old players extending their contracts remain the responsibility of the club.

The strike is however, unlikely to affect Dynamos’ continental commitments since the club was given a preliminary round bye because of its high ranking in African football.

The Harare side is due play the winner between FC Mafunzo of Zanzibar and Maculmane of Mozambique in the first round.
