Black Mambas 0-3 Motor Action

MOSES Chunga appealed for divine intervention as his struggling Black Mambas side were beaten 0-3 by Motor Action in a Castle Lager Premier League match at the Morris Depot on Saturday

Norman Maroto scored a brace and Godfrey Moyo converted from the penalty spot as the Mighty Bulls over came a Mambas side who were left cursing their lucky after failing to convert the few chances that came their way.

Chunga’s side found themselves chasing the game in the 77th minute when Ishmael Lawe was impeded upon in the box by Tendai Chinungo and Moyo converted the resultant spot kick.

Maroto then doubled the lead from close range two minutes from full time capitalising on a rebound after Learnmore Jere in goals for Mambas had punched Lawe’s initial shot back into play.

Ben Nyahunzvi and Jere then failed to communicate and allowed Maroto to sneak-in and slot the ball home to make it three nil on the stroke of fulltime.

Said Chunga after the game: “We need divine intervention to get back to winning ways as we have done everything needed to win.”

In other matches FC Platinum collected maximum points after beating Quelaton 2-0 at Mandava Stadium with a blunder from experienced Winston Chiwetu gifting the home team with their first goal.

Winston Chiwetu came off his line to deal with a long clearance from FC Platinum but, instead of playing the ball into touch, he tried to dribble past the FC Platinum hot-shot Ali Sadiki and was duly punished.

The former Gunners striker disposed him on the right before curling the ball into an empty net in the 10th minute.

What little hopes Quelaton had of snatching a point from the game were shattered in the 67th minute by the stylish Gahadzikwa.

“We had a good performance but we lacked finishing,” said Farai Sibanda the Quelaton coach.

“A stupid mistake from my goalkeeper cost us the match but I am happy that we managed to contain pressure. I am going to look for strikers and the good thing is they will be coming to Bulawayo so we will revenge.”

FC Platinum will next face Blue Rangers and Monomotapa.
