Dynamos 0-1 Harare City

QUINTON Masaka scored in stoppage time as Premier League debutants Harare City stunned champions Dynamos at Rufaro on Wednesday.

The unheralded midfielder beat Dynamos goalkeeper Washington Arubi with a hard and low shot in the referee's optional time after pouncing on a loose ball outside the penalty area.

Dynamos finished the match with 10 men after playmaker Denver Mukamba was sent off two minutes from the final whistle for a second bookable offence.

The defeat was Dynamos’ second this season after defeat by a similar score to Monomotapa on April 14.

Dynamos stay eighth, nine points adrift of the leaders Highlanders, but having played a game less. Harare City stay 12th but are four points clear of the relegation pack.

The champions missed several chances especially in the first half as they threatened to overrun their opponents but were frustrated by stoic defending by their neighbours.

Takesure Chinyama’s introduction late on upped the pressure on Harare City as Dynamos laid siege on their goal. But the focus on attack opened gaps at the back, allowing Masaka to ghost in for the winner.
