HIGHLANDERS successfully negotiated a major hurdle in their title push after avoiding defeat to Motor Action at Rufaro on Saturday.

With their closest pursuers FC Platinum and Shabanie Mine not in action until Sunday, Kevin Kaindu watched his man stretch their advantage at the top of the Premier League table to six points.

Most importantly for Kevin Kaindu, his men maintained their unbeaten start to the 2012 season which has seen them win seven and draw three.

The last time Highlanders opened a season in such form was in 2006, and they went on to win the title that year.
