Gunners 0-2 Shabanie Mine

SHABANIE Mine kept pace with Premier League leaders Highlanders following a 2-0 victory over Gunners at Lafarge Stadium on Saturday.

The Premier League’s leading marksman Nelson Mazivisa scored his 13th goal of the season before Phil Mudena’s second half strike secured victory for Luke Masomere’s men.

Shabanie stay second with 29 points from 15 matches. They are two points adrift of leaders Highlanders who host Quelaton at Barbourfields on Sunday.

Meanwhile, across town at Rufaro, Chicken Inn came from behind to force a 1-1 draw with gritty Harare City.

The visitors were difficult to break down but Harare City midfielder Trymore Nyamadzawo rose highest and headed in a cross from Willard Kalongola which ended 53 minutes of resistance by Adam Ndlovu’s men.

However, the visitors soaked the pressure from the home team and were level on 61 minutes through Makhosi Ncube. Ncube picked up a pass from outside the penalty box following a swift three-man move and unleashed a low shot that seemed to surprise goalkeeper Maxwell Nyamupangedengu.

Chicken Inn stay third with 26 points – five points off the pace.

Blue Rangers and Black Mambas played out a 2-2 draw at Gwanzura Stadium.
