2018 Young Black Achievers Awards: UK-based Zimwomen Association appeal for funding

UK-BASED Zimwomen Association says it is seeking for sponsorship for this year’s annual Young Black Achievers’ (YBA) Awards ceremony to mark the end of Black History month.

The 5th YBA Awards ceremony will be held on Saturday the 6th of October between 7pm – 10:30pm at Cripps Recreation Centre in Northampton.

According to the organisers, the nominees will be selected through schools while others identified through their various important and aspiring works in the Community. The age group the event will be focusing on is between 15 – 25 years old.

“We are also looking for people who would be interested in motivating the young adults with their life journeys, Sponsors, donation towards raffle prizes, guest speakers to contact the office for more information,” a statement from the organisers said.

According to the statement, the organisers are looking for sponsorship for the Academic, Music & Arts, Police & Relations, Young Entrepreneur, Community and sports categories.

The organisers said they were “requesting for sponsorship, Donations or a raffle price”.

“The Award is £200 which consists of 2 trophies, prizes and certificates for a winner and a runner up,” said the statement adding that “in return” a sponsor’s “logo will be on all our marketing materials”.

Also, according to the statement, there shall be “2 free tickets to the event and one of your (sponsor) representatives will get the opportunity to  present the prizes and also get time to speak and display any marketing material on the event day.”

The organisers also the event will be covered by, BBC Northampton, local newspapers and other media.
