PSL leaders Chicken Inn coach Joey Antipas has commended his side’s strong character as they left it late to brighten their league title chances, after coming from behind a post a 2-1 win over How Mine on Saturday.
Forward Edmore Chirambadare led the comeback with a strike three minutes before fulltime to cancel a Thembani Masuku goal for How Mine before Toto Banda sealed victory for them in injury time.
The result saw them remaining four points clear at the top as second-placed FC Platinum also won on the same day.
But crucially, Chicken Inn went six points ahead of their biggest threat Dynamos who drew 0-0 with Harare City the following day.
“That was a resilient showing by the boys and I am happy for the win.
“The strong character they showed is very inspiring and will see us finishing the season on a good position,” Antipas said.
He added: “I am not saying that we will win the league title but the way the boys played was something that can make us achieve our target of ending the season on a good position.
“We just have to maintain our momentum until the last game. There are five games to go so there is a good number of points to play for.”
Chicken Inn host FC Platinum in their next match which is a potential decider.
