FORMER Motor Action coach Joey Antipas is confident of turning around Chicken Inn after replacing Mandla Mpofu who threw in the towel on Sunday.
Antipas said he was looking forward to face the challenge.
“I am happy to be appointed coach of Chicken Inn. It’s a big challenge to coach Chicken Inn as I have been all along based in Harare,” he said.
“But I will be able to cope. What is needed is to instil confidence in the team. Chicken Inn are a very good side and we need to work hard.”
He takes over the team which is on sixth position on the league table with 36 points from 25 matches.
The former Mighty Bulls coach however, ruled out chances of winning the league title.
“We have to be optimistic but the championship is now out of our reach. There is Highlanders, Dynamos and Harare City so it will be difficult but we have to try,” said Antipas.
Antipas won the championship with Motor Action in 2010 and also won the BancABC Sup8r Cup when they beat Highlanders 1-0 in the final played at Barboufields Stadium the following year.
He quit the Mighty Bulls in September following a spate of poor results.
At the time of his departure Motor Action were at the foot of the league table with a paltry 14 points from 20 matches.Advertisement
