Antipas targets Chicken Inn top four finish

CHICKEN INN coach Joey Antipas has once again ruled out his side as PSL title contenders but set a top-four finish as their target.
With 13 games having been played so far, the Bulawayo side have entered a two-week league break on top of the standings with five points clear of second-placed Triangle.
While Chicken Inn have been convincing in their play that they can dethrone defending champions Dynamos, Antipas has always been diplomatic about his side’s season intentions.
“The team has been doing well and we hope to continue in the same vein after the break. But our focus is off from the league title,” Antipas said.
“I still maintain that it is too early to start talking about winning the championship. There are still a lot of games to be played so there is a long way to go and I do not want to put pressure on the players by talking about the title.
“There are 51 more points to play for and many teams still have good chances to win the league title. Maybe a top four target is more realistic for us.
“We would be satisfied by finishing in the top four.”
Antipas is a former championship winner with Motor Action in 2010 when they beat Dynamos to it.
Chicken have Lawrence Mhlanga and Tafadzwa Kutinyu in the national Under-23 side and skipper Danny Phiri in the senior national team while also serving as captain of home-based Warriors.
They have Edmore Chirambadare as the league’s top goal-scorer after he banged in eight goals in 13 games.
