CAPS UNITED skipper, Method Mwanjali, and midfielder, Achieford Gutu, trained with the rest of the team Tuesday ahead of the Harare derby against old foes, Dynamos, on Sunday.
The duo had been arrested last week after allegedly stabbing a man identified as Tendai Nhunzvi following an altercation in the early hours of the fateful Sunday. Gutu is facing charges of malicious damage to property after smashing the rear windscreen of Nhunzvi’s car.
He was released last week on $100 bail. But Mwanjali, who is charged with attempted murder, had been denied bail but was finally released on Monday also on $100 bail.
Both players missed the 2-1 victory over Harare City on Sunday but they could play on Sunday after they turned up for a gym session with the rest of the team.
Caps United go into the match under pressure to break the jinx against Dynamos whom they have failed to beat since 2009 when a Nyasha Mushekwi double powered them to a memorable victory under Lloyd Chitembwe.
Mwanjali was also part of that great squad. But since then they have failed to beat the Boys in Blue in a league match.
Dynamos coach, Paulo Jorge Silva, will be also under pressure to win after he was given a three game ultimatum to collect maximum points. Any stumble on Sunday will seal his fate.Advertisement
