‘Big-headed’ Soul Jah Love in trouble with Mupfumi

MUSIC promoter Esau Mupfumi has dragged controversial ZimDancehall star Soul Jah Love to the court for failing to attend billed shows.
In a statement this week, Mupfumi said Jah Love was becoming “big headed”.
“To show our innocence, we have since pressed fraud charges against Soul Jah Love as he has breached our contractual agreement,” Mupfumi said.
The development comes after Jah Love failed to attend a recent show.
Mupfumi had decided not to ask the musician to pay back the US$750 deposit but asked him to perform last Saturday free of charge alongside Progress Chipfumo but the artist failed to turn up.
“It is sad as it is regrettable that – for the second time again – Soul Jah Love did not attend after we had made all the necessary requisites and requirements for the show including contractual agreements,” said Mupfumi.
“We have however, noted that while it is in our best interest to serve the Mutare community on quality entertainment, we have sadly noted that Soul Jah Love has other motives to tarnish our good image as one of the best entertainment houses in the country.”
This is not the first time that the “Ndini Uya Uya” hit maker has made headlines for failing to attend a show.
On several occasions Jah Love has left fans displeased with the latest being at Book Cafe when he refused to perform citing poor attendance.Advertisement
