How Mine 1-5 Highlanders
HIGHLANDERS recorded their best result of the season with a 5-1 hammering of How Mine at Barbourfields on Sunday to move back into eighth place with 25 points.
And what a sumptuous way to silence the self-proclaimed doctor of football Luke Masomere, How Mine coach!
How Mine dropped to fifth with 29 after Dynamos humbled ZPC Kariba 2-1 to move third.
At BF, Bosso were quick off the blocks with Obadiah Tarumbwa slotting home just after 10 minutes.
While Menard Mupera gave How Mine some hope, it was Highlanders who had the advantage at halftime through a rare Simon Munawa thunderbolt in the 33rd minute.
In the second half, it was Bosso all the way with Tarumbwa completing his brace on the hour for a comfortable 3-1 lead.
Enter Knox Mutizwa.
He drilled the fourth four minutes later and, not wanting to be left out on the double scorers list, added the fifth two minutes from time.
“It was a good match, the boys played according to instructions and we got the goals we wanted.
“Like I said in the last home match against Dynamos, we really need to start winning at home and this is good for us,” said Bosso Coach Bongani Mafu said.
Their next home match is against rising FC Platinum on Thursday.
Masomere, humble in defeat despite saying the pressure was on Bosso after they booted them out of Chibuku Super Cup last Sunday, said they had lost to a better team.
In another match, Whawha and Buffaloes drew 1-1 at Ascot in Gweru.
The point enabled Buffaloes to move up to ninth place with 17 points, one better than ZPC.
