EVERTON youngster Brendan Galloway looks set to be handed a new contract after triggering a clause in his current deal, sources have told ESPN FC.
Despite Toffees boss Roberto Martinez saying last month that the defender was due a new contract, the club are now obliged to give the Englishman a new deal. 
Galloway started in Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Manchester United at Goodison Park which triggered a clause in the 19-year-old’s contract.
This now means that he was contractually entitled to a new deal once he had started 10 Premier League games for the club.
Galloway has impressed for Everton this term in his natural full-back position, deputising for long-term absentee Leighton Baines, who looks set to miss almost all of the season. 
The Zimbabwe-born defender made his break through into the Everton first time at the tail end of last season, making two appearances.
He has now gone on to feature eight times in the Premier League so far this term, missing just the one game. 
Unsurprisingly given Galloway’s homegrown status, a number of the top flight’s big clubs have been reported to have been keeping tabs on Galloway.
His progression with the Toffees is no doubt being watched over by a number of top scouts and Everton will be keen to sort out his long-term future.
