CAF bars DeMbare’s foreign signings

DYNAMOS will no longer register their two foreign targets for the Champions League after failing to beat Wednesday’s Caf late registration deadline.
The Harare giants have been targeting Cameroonian striker Joseph Aboueme and an unnamed Portuguese striker to beef up their lightweight strike force which has been a major concern.
But the duo failed to arrive in Zimbabwe on Monday and Tuesday as expected, forcing Dynamos to rest hopes of securing the two for the Champions League.
Dynamos secretary-general Webster Chikengezha said if the foreigners finally come, they will register them for the domestic league.
“Time is not on our side. After their arrival we first needed international clearances before we could register them with Caf and now it is too late and they can only play in the local league,” Chikengezha said.
Chikengezha said since they are not for domestic use, initial agreements would have to change.
“We wanted to use these guys’ experience in the Champions League so now we have to change terms and conditions we had initially agreed upon. We still value what they would contribute in the team,” he said.
Dynamos will now have to get into the African Safari with only three strikers Washington Pakamisa, Patrick Khumbula and Simba Sithole.Advertisement
