Caps look to make it three out of three

CAPS United are hoping to make it three out of three and get the ticket to the cash rich Mbada Diamonds Cup final when they meet giant killers How Mine at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Caps beat How Mine 2-1 and 1-0 in the league, but are wary of the goldminers after they knocked out defending champions Dynamos in the quarterfinals after winning 1-0 at Rufaro Stadium.
Caps assistant coach Saul Chaminuka said history favoured his side: “We have managed to beat them in the league this season and definitely history is on our side.
“But we also know they beat Dynamos in the last round and this is a cup competition which makes every team dangerous.”
The Green Machine are still in the running for a rare league and cup double as they sit in fifth place with 45 points and with a mathematical chance of winning the Premier Soccer League title if the top four falters.
But for now, that is not the focus.
“We are taking each game as it comes and we are just focusing on How Mine and nothing else,” Chaminuka said.
Meanwhile, the Bulawayo side will be looking to cap a fine debut season by reaching their first final with coach Philani Ncube said the pressure is on Caps United.
“They are the favourites, we don’t have any pressure and they are playing at home. We will go there to compete and give it our best shot, but remember we also have our own ambitions and anything can happen,” Ncube said.
