Caps on the verge of league glory

CAPS United face the most defining moment in 11 years on Saturday when they travel to Chapungu, with a chance of being crowned PSL champions.
The Harare giants lead the log standings with two points clear of FC Platinum, in a league campaign that has now become a two-horse race.
After edging Ngezi Platinum 1-0 on Sunday through a Simba Nhivi first half goal, United did themselves a great favour of keeping the championship crown quest in their own hands.
They arrive at Ascot Stadium on Saturday, needing just a win for a moment of honour.
A win will not make them mind FC Platinum’s visit to Tsholotsho, in the same afternoon.
Coach Lloyd Chitembwe has emphasised on apt preparations for the Chapungu match.
“It was very important for us to collect three points and now we will prepare hard for the next match, to get another three points. We do not have to approach our next game with some pressure on ourselves,” Chitembwe said.
“It is a crucial game but, we have to be our usual selves. We have been working hard all season and that is why we have been on top of the log or second. That attitude will see us doing well. We just have to continue putting more effort as we have always been doing.”
Inspiring for Caps is that their next opponents Chapungu do not have much to play for as they are in the bottom four of the log.
Whatever result Chapungu remains fourth from bottom and will have to wait for Zifa to determine if two or four teams would be relegated.Advertisement
