TRIANGLE are the new Castle Lager Premier Soccer League leaders after thrashing Hwange 5-2 at Gibbo Stadium on Sunday as Kelvin Kaindu’s men got off to a flying start.
Kaindu, formerly of Highlanders, replaced Biggie Zuze who is now his assistant.
Pasca Manhanga (3rd) Hardlife Mavhundi (32nd), Richard Kawondera (42th minute), Lameck Nhamo (44th minute and Hillary Bakacheza (89th minute), got the goals that set Gibbo alight.
The visitors responded through Evans Rusike in the 48th minute and Gilbert Zulu in the 65th minute.
Triangle leads the standings with three points and on a better goal difference than defending champions Dynamos, who hammered Buffaloes 3-0 on Saturday at the National Sports Stadium.
Last season’s runners up, ZPC Kariba, are third after beating Highlanders 2-0 on Saturday at Gwanzura with Caps United occupying fourth place.
Mark Harrison saw his charges Caps United come from behind via Rodreck Mutuma double to edge newly promoted Whahwa at Ascot Stadium in Gweru.
Oscar Lungu converted from the spot for Whahwa before Mutuma started and completed his brace in two minutes, in the 44th and 45th minute.
Whahwa had the misfortune of failing to field goalkeeper Philip Nhete, strikers Malvern Nyakabangwe and Gift Kwaramba after they failed to complete their registration in time and the Premier Soccer League barred them from playing.
At Luveve Stadium, How Mine and Chapungu shared the spoils when they drew 0-0.Advertisement
