CAPS United coach Taurai Mangwiro on Tuesday travelled to Cameroon for a Fifa elite instructors’ course.
The course is expected to begin on Wednesdays and ends seven days later.
Mangwiro travelled to Cameroon with Zifa technical director Maxwell Jongwe who will also be undergoing the same course.
The course could be a blessing in disguise for ZPC Kariba who will get into their league final match with their opponents Caps missing their coach.
ZPC Kariba are on the verge of winning the league title in their maiden premiership participation as they lead the log standings by two points ahead of second-placed Dynamos.
Jongwe lauded the course as a necessity that enriches local coaches with football knowledge.
“Since development is at the core of football, the addition of two more Caf instructors will better equip the nation training our own coaches without always seeking foreign expertise,” Jongwe told the Zifa official website.
“Coaches’ development currently needs critical attention since we are going to implement systems that regulate minimum qualifications for coaches working under all Zifa registered clubs so that we do not lag behind the global football family.”
If the Zimbabwean duo is successful in the course, they will joining Gibson Homela and Nelson Matongorere as Caf coaching instructors.
