Caps United deny former Bosso coach Mathe is in charge

CAPS United have dismissed reports suggesting former Highlanders coach Mark Mathe has joined them as coach after he was spotted at the training ground at RBZ Sports club Tuesday.
He was reported to have agreed a three year deal but CAPS United chief executive Joe Makuvire said while Mathe is a very good coach they already had Mark Harrison as their coach.
“I hear he was at our training ground RBZ Sports Club but the official position is that we have Mark Harrison as our coach,” said Makuvire.
“Mathe is a very good coach by any standards but we have the Englishman as our coach. We are just waiting for him to arrive from South Africa.
“Once his work permit is out he will be with us.”
Mathe was Highlanders coach last season but was fired at the end after a spate of dreadful results.
He has been club-less since then and his presence at the Caps United training sessions had fuelled speculation he could be joining the Green Machine technical bench.
Harrison has been in South African since he was unveiled as Caps United coach on January 7.
However, the coach’s continued absence had been worrying the Caps United hierarchy with reports suggesting the 54 year old coach had not been cleared by his former club Black Leopards of South Africa.
Leopards were said to be contemplating taking a legal action following his abrupt and unilateral termination of his contract with the team.Advertisement
