CAPS United finally returned to winning ways after ending their six-match winless run with a 2-0 victory over Manica Diamonds at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare Saturday.
Makepekepe scored a goal in each half, thanks to Chawananga Kaonga and Chris Mugalu who scored in the 38th and 67th minute, respectively.
So important was the result that it saw CAPS United registering its first win since June 7 as they last beat ZPC Kariba at Rufaro Stadium.
The result also handed Manica Diamonds a second consecutive defeat, leaving Herbert Maruwa’s side with work to do as they seek to survive relegation.
Manica Diamonds is currently 17th on the log with 16 points, that is five ahead of bottom place occupiers Triangle FC.
Elsewhere, FC Hunters lost 1-0 at home to Chicken Inn, while ZPC Kariba picked a 1-0 against Tel One at Ascot Stadium in Gweru.
At Baobab, Ngezi Platinum picked a 1-0 win over Herentals, the same result, which was recorded at Luveve in Bulawayo, where FC Platinum won against Bulawayo Chiefs.
